Simple to Complex #2 Y Drill for Youth Soccer - Ep. 24

Part of the series: Sessions

About this video

This second of three videos demonstrates how using soccer drills with a basic but extensible setup can allow you to expand from working on a concept (passing and receiving in this example) from the bare basics to something far more complex, all within the same basic setup. This video explores the Y Drill, where we start with 4 cones and ball, and work on perfecting passing and receiving techniques with your soccer players. I then show you how you can add additional components to make it more complex, working on additional skills, and finally I show you how to relate it to our game model to connect the technical work to the tactical application of the concepts. 00:00 - Kick-off 01:17 - Basic Setup - Up, Back, and Through Variation 04:03 - Variation #2 - Half turn 04:39 - Variation #3 - Added wall pass 05:30 - Variation #4 - Attacking pattern of play to goal 06:34 - Game Application - Goal Kick 07:50 - Variation #5 - Multiple Skills 09:05 - Live Example with 2 starting points 09:46 - Wrap up - subscribe!
